MONASH HPR
"pushing the boundaries of space technologies"
About Us
Monash High Powered Rocketry (MHPR) is a student team at Monash University revolutionising student rocketry in Australia by developing innovative space technologies, fostering collaboration, and igniting passion in future generations through outreach.
With a team of over 100 members, MHPR actively compete in both the International Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC) and Australian Universities Rocketry Competition (AURC). The design and manufacturing of almost all components of these rockets are done in-house by students, including all airframe components and many flight computers.
In 2023, MHPR competed with Project Valkyrie into the 10,000ft Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) category. As part of a two year design cycle, MHPR designed and built Project Zenith, with the plan to compete in the IREC 2025 Student Researched and Developed (SRAD) category.

Spaceport America Cup
The International Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC) previously known as the Spaceport America Cup (SAC) is the world's largest intercollegiate rocket engineering competition and conference. This is run by the Experimental Sounding Rocket Association (ESRA).
With over 120 teams from colleges and universities in twenty countries, the competition continues to grow every year. Students launch solid, liquid, and hybrid rockets to target altitudes of 10,000 and 30,000 feet.
